Our work isn’t just about care—it’s about change.
We are redefining mental healthcare by addressing the individual, nuanced needs of people across every stage of reproductive life—from fertility and loss to pregnancy, parenthood, and menopause.
Transforming Mental Health Across Generations
Every person who walks through our doors or logs into one of our courses is part of a ripple effect.
Since 2011, we’ve worked across clinics, classrooms, communities, and continents to close the mental health gap in reproductive care. Because when we train providers and support families, we don’t just improve outcomes. We change lives.
At every step—from fertility to parenthood to menopause—we meet people where they are, offering care that reflects their realities and reshapes what mental health support can be.

— Black Perinatal Mental Health Trainee, 2024
At the Seleni Institute, access isn’t an afterthought, it’s the foundation.
We believe that mental health care starts with who delivers it and where. That’s why we’ve awarded over 1,200 scholarships to clinicians around the world who reflect the communities they serve.
These scholarships aren’t just financial support. They’re investments in generational mental health.
Scholarships That Transform Communities
Program Spotlight
-
In 2023, Seleni partnered with kate spade new york to launch our first Black Perinatal Mental Health (BPMH) Training program. Through their generous support, we awarded 200 full scholarships to Black-identifying providers—including therapists, doulas, social workers, and midwives—across the U.S.
These clinicians now serve over 10,000 individuals each week, delivering culturally responsive, trauma-informed mental health care to communities that have long been underserved.
This partnership reflects our shared commitment to expanding access, advancing equity, and strengthening the mental health workforce from the inside out.

In 2024, Seleni Institute partnered with Reunion Neuroscience to address one of the most pressing issues in maternal health: access to specialized, evidence-based mental health training.
Together, we launched a scholarship initiative that funded 50 full-tuition scholarships for practicing and aspiring healthcare providers. These scholarships offered access to Seleni’s cornerstone courses:
Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders (PMADs)
Perinatal Loss & Grief
These clinicians now deliver care to thousands of individuals annually, advancing Reunion’s mission to improve maternal mental health through both science and systems change.
“Receiving a Seleni scholarship allowed me to bring culturally sensitive, trauma-informed care to my clients, many of whom have never had access to a provider who looks like them or speaks their language.”

Help Us Expand Access
Scholarship recipients serve hundreds of individuals each year, extending care to communities that have long been underserved. Many go on to train others, build community programs, and shift institutional practices from within.
We’re committed to doubling the number of scholarships we offer so no provider is turned away for lack of funds, and no community goes without care.

Every therapist we train, every patient we support, every scholarship we award creates a ripple effect that improves lives and strengthens communities.
Together with our partners and supporters, we’ve:
Trained over 7,500 mental health professionals, reaching more than 1.5 million lives worldwide.
Provided therapy to 5,000+ patients, impacting 21,000 families.
Awarded over 1,200 scholarships to clinicians serving historically marginalized communities.
