You are not alone. We can help.
The Seleni Institute is committed to providing excellent psychotherapy for women, couples, and teenage girls experiencing reproductive and maternal mental health challenges, from mild parenting stress and worry, to severe postpartum depression and anxiety, to the grief of losing a child.
Our experienced clinicians provide individually-tailored, evidence-based psychotherapy, and collaborate onsite on our Upper East Side location to help you feel better.
We support women and couples through:
- Infertility and third party reproduction
- Child loss
Once you have requested an appointment, a Seleni clinician will reach you by phone to determine if our services could be beneficial. Every individual seeking mental health care at the Seleni Institute goes through an intake process, during which we’ll discuss the current issues that prompted your call, treatment history, identification of additional life stressors, contact information, as well as fees and policies.
If we determine that therapy at the Seleni Institute is the best option for you, we'll facilitate an appointment with a Seleni clinician to discuss treatment goals. If an outside referral better meets your needs, we will refer you to appropriate treatment options, including clinicians or programs in the community.
Telephone and online HIPAA-compliant videoconferencing psychotherapy services are available in some circumstances.
Fees & Insurance
We are an in-network provider with Blue Cross Blue Shield.
For all other insurance plans, we will process and submit out-of-network claims on our patients’ behalf. We apply what your insurance pays toward the cost of your care, so that your only out-of-pocket responsibility is the difference.
Seleni also offers Financial Assistance to those who qualify for a clinical and financial need; as well as sliding scale. We work with all of our patients to ensure that everyone who needs care is able to afford care here at Seleni.
Please contact us if you have any questions; otherwise, fees and insurance will be discussed during the intake process.
