Conversation & Communication: How to Build Better Relationships

If you are a new or pregnant mom under the age of 25, bring your baby and/or your partner to our free workshop.

Whether you're talking with your partner, best friend, child or health care professional, communication is key. At our workshop, we'll discuss your rights as they pertain to prenatal care, labor/delivery, and reproductive health and how to best advocate for yourself.

Topics will include:

  • Hospital tours

  • Giving consent for you and baby

  • Doulas

  • Parenting classes, etc.

Then, we'll continue our ongoing conversation about communicating effectively with the important people in your life.

All attendees will receive:

  • Newborn Essentials

  • Refreshments

  • Free round-trip Metro Cards to cover transportation costs

The Seleni Institute Young Parent Program seeks to improve the likelihood of success in adulthood for young mothers and fathers by providing critical and evidence-based reproductive maternal mental health services to expecting and parenting youth under 25. From time to time, the Seleni Institute photographs its public programs and participants in attendance. If you do not wish to be photographed, please advise a Seleni Institute volunteer on the day of the event.
