Catherine Monk, PhD
Dr. Monk's research focuses on the earliest in utero influences on a child's development and the potential for early prevention of mental health problems. Several of these projects are funded by the National Institute of Mental Health.
She has received many professional awards including the Scholar Award from the American Psychosomatic Society, the Scientist Research Award from the Sackler Institute, and the Klerman Honorable Mention for Outstanding Research from the National Alliance for Research on Schizophrenia and Depression.
Dr. Monk's research has been published in many journals including Biological Psychiatry, Journal of Child Psychiatry and Psychology, Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Infant Mental Health Journal, Archives of Women's Mental Health, and Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology.
